About Nova Pack Dog Training
Meet Stephen
Over the years, my journey working with puppies and dogs of various ages and breeds has equipped me with a wealth of extensive experience. Moreover, I've had the privilege to guide and educate their owners on the art of effective training and responsible care. My approach to canine behavior encompasses a harmonious blend of positive reinforcement and appropriate corrective measures, forming the foundation of balanced training and behavior modification.
Central to my role is delving deep into the underlying triggers of a dog's behavioral challenges. I firmly believe that every dog is a unique individual, and their behavioral issues, whether it's aggression, anxiety, or defiance, often stem from intricate factors. By meticulously identifying these factors and addressing them through constructive methods, I empower dog owners to instill discipline and obedience in their beloved companions.
Formal training through the Animal Behavior College has endowed me with invaluable knowledge. Yet, my journey doesn't stop there. I've been privileged to collaborate closely with seasoned mentors, experts who have excelled in diverse dog sports like obedience, tracking, protection, weight pull, dock diving, and confirmation. This hands-on exposure has propelled my understanding of canine behavior and advanced training techniques to new heights.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to my craft, I remain in a constant state of refinement. Staying abreast of cutting-edge research and evolving training methodologies, I am resolute in my pursuit of a comprehensive comprehension of both canine and human behavior dynamics. My genuine passion lies in fostering the symbiotic bond between dogs and their owners, enabling them to lead a life brimming with happiness, health, and mutual fulfillment.
I’m also an active member of several clubs working on detection, tracking, bitework, protection, apprehension, and scent work. This gives me even more knowledge and understanding of the dog’s point of view, and better serves my clients.
In essence, my journey as a devoted and adept dog trainer is characterized by an unceasing thirst for knowledge and an unrelenting desire to bring positive transformation. Every wagging tail and joyful bark, every moment of triumph over behavioral hurdles, reaffirms my dedication to enhancing the lives of dogs and their human companions. As I tread this path, my ultimate goal remains unwavering: to foster a world where dogs and humans thrive together in perfect harmony.
Meet Max Leon
Growing up, my family and I had German Shepherds and mixed breed dogs running around in our backyard. As a young child, I tried my best to train them, but I got frustrated quickly and gave up. Looking back, part of me wishes I had the knowledge to properly teach a dog.
As time went on, this desire took a back seat in my life and was eventually forgotten. Little did I know my future would include dogs, and that they would become a big part of my life.
My girlfriend and I decided to get our first dog in 2025. We quickly realized that we needed help, which is when I found Stephen and began working with Nova Pack under his mentorship. Since being under his instruction, he has helped me grow, learn, and truly appreciate the intricate details of dog training.
I’ve become fascinated with the dog training world and developed a love for working with all kinds of dogs. Right now, I focus on pet dogs, with the goal of eventually working with protection, detection, and service dogs.
I’ve learned that there are many aspects to dog training, including understanding dog body language and behavior, learning how to communicate with dogs in a way they can understand, and helping them reach their full potential.
Seeing high-level protection and military dogs made me curious about how someone can train a dog to that level while still making the process enjoyable for the dog.
I apply the things I’ve learned with my one-year-old Rottweiler mix, Auggie, to build a strong relationship and create a life of structure and enrichment for him.
My ultimate goal is to work with Military Multi-Purpose Canines and follow my family’s military heritage.
